(INDIANAPOLIS, IN) For more than a decade and a half, the members of Greensky Bluegrass have created their own version of bluegrass music, mixing the acoustic stomp of a string band with the rule-breaking spirit of rock & roll. The group will bring their signature sound and dynamic live show to The MacAllister Amphitheater at Garfield Park (2432 Conservatory Drive) this Saturday, June 10 at 6:00 p.m. (doors at 5:00 p.m.) as part of the WTTS Summer Concerts at Garfield Park.
General admission tickets are on sale now for $25. Kids 6 and under are free with a paid adult ticket. Fans can expect a festive atmosphere, free parking, food trucks, and a full bar for guests over the age of 21.
MOKB Presents has been a leader in developing Garfield Park’s entertainment programming over the last two years. MOKB owner, Josh Baker says “It’s arguably one of the most beautiful, under served venues in the state. There’s something about that venue that speaks to me as a promoter, and as a live music fan. It’s the raw, unpretentious nature of the park that gives me that connection. I had a “Field of Dreams” moment a few years ago and saw the vision. Now, we keep building these great events and people keep coming.”
MOKB Presents has been working with Indy Parks for the past two years to re-energize the MacAllister Amphitheater and attract national acts to Garfield Park. Baker adds “The process takes time. We had two amazing shows last year and now one this year. There’s no reason to force anything that doesn’t work just for the sake of having a certain number of shows. We’re thinking about what this looks like 2 to 3 years down the road.”
