HI-FI First Friday January feat. Fern Murphy

Fern Murphy is a DreamPop/Shoegaze trio based out of Indianapolis, IN. The band was founded in January of 2018 and was quick to receive a tumultuous welcome from the Indianapolis music scene and surrounding areas. With frequent radio circulation and noted performances across a multitude of premier venues, the group has developed their own distinct and “refreshing” sound, pulling from modern shoegaze influences but incorporating soaring melodies and unique harmonies. Fern Murphy’s members, with their passion for discovery and exploration, are known world travelers but have their roots deeply embedded in the rural Midwest. These unique characteristics have resulted in a style of songwriting that copes with the mundaneness of life by romanticizing the exotic beauty of the unknown. Pulling from real experiences and incorporating surreal motifs, the group transcends their audiences into a fantastic introspection that refreshes the mind and spirit. With their acclaimed debut E.P., Gringo Love, the band has begun to rapidly go beyond their native scene captivating audiences all over the world. Fern Murphy performed at Bellwether Music Festival this past August, where they shared the stage with similar genre-based groups such as Beach House, Real State and more.

Sungaze is an American Dreamgaze band from Cincinnati, Ohio. Their signature sound lends itself quite equally to the realms of Shoegaze, Psych Rock and Dream Pop, with an unmistakable western flair reminiscent of some of the popular singer-songwriters of the sixties.

Their debut album, Light in All of It, was released July 19, 2019.
