This two-day gathering will bring industry leaders, policymakers, and stakeholders from across the country to Indianapolis to focus on the issues that matter most to the future of live music and performance. Together, attendees will explore policy solutions, build stronger coalitions, and shape strategies to keep independent live entertainment thriving at the local, state, and national levels.

Programming will feature timely sessions including:

• State of Live: Why Live Entertainment Policy Matters
• Sustaining Live: State Incentives and Live Performance Funds
• Ticketing 101: The Landscape and Legislation
• Cities and Live Policy
• Navigating the PRO Licensing Landscape
• Growing the Coalition for Change

This is the first event of its kind, and having it in Indianapolis, in the heart of the country, is a powerful statement about the work our city and state have been doing through the Indiana Independent Venue Alliance and the Independent Indiana Stages initiative.

Josh Baker, co-owner of HI-FI and MOKB Presents and Executive Director of the Indiana Independent Venue Alliance, said:

“Independent venues have always been creative problem-solvers, and across the country we’ve seen incredible examples of communities working together to protect live music. The Live Policy Summit is an opportunity to bring those ideas to Indianapolis, engage our policymakers directly, and shape the future of the live entertainment industry. Hosting this event at HI-FI in the heart of the country feels especially fitting.”

If you’ve been waiting for a reason to visit Nickel Plate District Amphitheater, we’ve got just the ticket. Grace Potter, the Vermont-born singer with a genre-blending rock sound, is coming to the Nickel Plate District Amphitheater (NPD Amp) in Fishers on Friday, September 5th, 2025. Get tickets now!

Grace Potter

Way back in 2008—before the Grammy nominations, the steady stream of sold-out tours and critically acclaimed records, the co-signs from rock royalty like the Rolling Stones, Robert Plant, Bonnie Raitt, Iggy Pop, and many more—Grace Potter holed up in an L.A. studio with the legendary T Bone Burnett and cut an album unlike any other in her wildly expansive body of work. Made with a crew of musical luminaries, the Burnett-produced LP captured Potter at a moment of profound metamorphosis, then wound up shelved. After joining forces with her former label Hollywood Records to unearth those recordings from deep in the vaults, Potter at long last presents the official release of Medicine: a powerhouse album that’s equal parts archival gem and thrilling new addition to her extraordinary catalog.

Since the making of Medicine, Potter has forged a formidable career that’s included sharing the stage with the likes of Robert Plant, Allman Brothers Band, the Rolling Stones, and Mavis Staples, in addition to earning three Grammy nominations (including Best Rock Album for her critically lauded 2019 album Daylight and another for a 2011 collaboration with country superstar Kenny Chesney). “Medicine brought me to a new understanding of the diversity of musicality I have within me—it showed me I had so much to share beyond the ’70s-throwback, rock-and-roll thing I had been known for up to that point,” says Potter. “Maybe it was just so far behind its time…or so ahead of its time…that I needed to step away from it for a while, keep exploring and keep moving away from anything derivative. This is an album that truly belongs in its own space, and I’m so happy to finally give it the platform I know it deserves.”

Lollapalooza is only a few weeks out, and so many artists on the festival’s lineup are stopping in Indy this summer! MOKB Presents is beyond stoked to be hosting these shows at HI-FI, HI-FI Annex, and Nickel Plate District Amphitheater. Whether the band is making a stop on their way to Chicago or continuing their tour on that festival high, you won’t want to miss these shows. So, check out this list of future Lollapalooza alumni, and get the chance to see them here in Indy!

bôa – Monday, August 4th, HI-FI Annex

UK-based band bôa made an unexpected global impact when their dreamy 1998 track Duvet, the iconic opening theme for the cult anime Serial Experiments Lain, resurfaced and exploded on TikTok, soundtracking millions of introspective edits and moody late-night spirals. Blending trip-hop, alt-rock, and shoegaze textures, bôa’s sound feels timeless yet eerily current, like a forgotten ’90s memory beamed into the now. With Duvet introducing a whole new generation to their haunting vibe, bôa’s live shows hit even harder; intimate, immersive, and emotionally loaded.

julie – Monday, August 4th, HI-FI

Support: Lowertown

Emerging from the murky edges of LA’s underground, julie crafts a world where shoegaze, noise, and post-hardcore collide in perfect disarray. With blown-out riffs, ghostly vocals, and visuals that feel like found footage of a forgotten dream, they’ve built a cult following by doing everything their own way: lo-fi, low-key, and loud as hell. julie isn’t just a band; they’re a mood, a memory, and a movement. Live, they blur the line between concert and catharsis, and once you’re in it, there’s no coming back.

Ole 60 – Saturday, September 13th, Nickel Plate District Amphitheater

Support: The Jack Wharff Band, Rob Langdon

With roots tangled in folk tradition and eyes fixed on open skies, Ole 60 weaves stories that linger long after the last chord fades. Their sound is all dusty harmonies, slow-burning melodies, and the kind of lyrics that feel handwritten just for you. Equal parts tender and tough, they carry the spirit of old country into new places; intimate, honest, and quietly powerful. For fans of long roads, lost loves, and songs that sit with you in silence, Ole 60 is the band you didn’t know you needed.

hey, nothing – Wednesday, October 1st, HI-FI

Support: Hotel Fiction

Equal parts vulnerability and venom, hey, nothing crafts songs that feel like ripped pages from a diary set on fire. With sharp lyricism, dynamic shifts, and a sound that swerves from soft melancholy to full-throttle emotional release, they’re the soundtrack to growing pains and quiet rage. There’s a weight behind every word and a pulse in every pause. It’s not just a set, it’s a shared exorcism. For anyone who’s ever screamed into a pillow or stared too long at the ceiling, hey, nothing gets it.
