Listening to Cara Jean Wahlers & MOONFLOWER TRIO, you may find yourself contemplating what could have been as you drive through Big Sur along Highway 1, wandering the streets of Chicago’s Chinatown in search of an escape or reminiscing about a summer spent listening to Led Zeppelin on a rooftop with a young love.

Their sound is a mixture of thoughtfully arranged guitar, cello and mandolin tempered with the freshness of improvisational moments, and anchored by Wahlers’ evocative lyrics and soulful in-your-ear vocals.

Before forming their trio, Wahlers and Parido played as a duo for years, performing on nearly every stage in Indianapolis and traveling to various regional destinations. Together, they recorded the album “Goodnight Charlotte” that topped local best-of lists, garnered national attention and received radio airplay and reviews overseas.

Wahlers and Parido have performed on stages with Tim Grimm, Jason Wilber (John Prine,) Eric Taylor, Philip Gulley (author,) Ben Sollee, Krista Detor, Linda McRae, The Low Anthem, Joe Pug and others, and composed music for the independent feature Paradise Recovered that world premiered at the Heartland Film Festival.
