We are live music fans, plain and simple. There’s no better way to experience the music than the way it was meant to be heard: live and in person. It’s that “in the moment” concert experience that keeps our wheels turning, day-in and day-out. Somewhere along the line we accidentally turned our passion into a business. From there it’s evolved into the heart and soul of our daily lives. Since our inception in 2008, we’ve always focused on attracting artists and profile events to Indianapolis. Over the years we’ve been recognized for our horsepower behind breaking new bands in Indy. We’re thankful to have a network of friends, fans, agents and managers that help us find and discover new music, and those partnerships yielded an explosion of local talent. Our real value is the ability to help develop an artist in Indy. That ability comes largely from the trust and confidence of our fans who buy tickets to the shows. Indianapolis’ music and cultural scene is flourishing, and we’re grateful to be a catalyst in this ecosystem between talented people and the fans that love them.
Aside from free ticket requests, this is the most frequent question we’re asked.
MOKB is an acronym for My Old Kentucky Blog. When founders Josh Baker and Craig “Dodge” Lile started producing concerts, the duo decided it would be best to shorten the name to avoid confusion about what city’s scene the site focused on. Starting a business was never part of the plan, and MOKB’s jet-fueled rise found the boys at the helm of a powerful promotional machine with a funny name we’re happy to be stuck with (if you’re wondering, it’s just “M-O-K-B”). But don’t worry about pronunciations, just focus on enjoying the shows. As long as the tickets keep selling, you can call us whatever you want.
Producing and promoting shows has always been in our blood. Through our concerts and events, MOKB Presents has evolved into more than just a promoter. In addition to our own shows, we’ve been producing events for our partners and clients for the last 4 years including Sun King Brewery, Punch Bowl Social, Craft Brewers Association, IUPUI, DoStuff Media and many more.
