His first album of original music in seven years, Time is a Thief presents a heartfelt collection of ten new songs, showcasing the celebrated Louisiana singer/songwriter with gritty, rootsy hooks and infectious grooves conveyed through his fervent vocals. Produced by Grammy-winning artist Eric Krasno and Grammy-nominated producer/guitarist Jeremy Most, this album exudes a funky, soulful sound, featuring diverse sonic layers that set it apart from Broussard’s previous works. In a recent interview with Louisiana’s The Advocate, Broussard noted, “In my career, you’ve got flashes of me in every project, but this one, from top to bottom, is fully me.”
Broussard is the featured artist in the latest episode of the NPR World Cafe series ‘Acadiana Music Showcase.’ The monthly program, produced by KRVS Public Media at the University of Louisiana in Lafayette, highlights the vibrant music culture of Louisiana’s Cajun country. Listen here.
Broussard launched his “Time is A Thief” national tour last month. The 30-plus city run features performances this week in Red Bank, NJ; Hartford, CT; New York City; and Beverly, MA. Additional cities include Portsmouth, NH; Chicago, IL; St. Louis; and two shows in New Orleans, including his third appearance at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival. He is also gearing up for his highly anticipated Australian debut with a series of shows that includes the Byron Bay Bluesfest on April 18 and 19.
