Strangebirds

What emerges from Strangebirds’ music is a pure Americana style —gritty yet melodic, ringing with traditional influences as far back as The Grateful Dead to modern alt-country icons like Jason Isbell and Sturgill Simpson. Formed in 2019 by Indianapolis singer-songwriter, Jake Schlegel, Strangebirds have quickly been making a name for themselves with their visceral live shows packed with raw energy and emotion. Their self-titled debut album, due out September 2021, is a succinct collection of noir-tinged stories filled with strung out, displaced, heartbroken and downright paranoid Midwestern characters held together by vibrant and tasteful instrumentation.
