The coalescing of swirling guitars, vibrant synthesizers, and captivating vocal delivery– Blood Root bears a shimmering and thoughtful resemblance to the sounds of indie rock that feel hauntingly familiar.

Steeped in the sounds of Blue Ridge and coastal North Carolina, you can so clearly hear the longing and sensitive nature of a spirit raised in the Appalachian South.

A multi-instrumentalist and classically trained vocalist, Blood Root is constantly cataloging new sounds and textures, uncovering the possibilities made available by synths, samplers, drum machines, and effect pedals.

Beginning with the release of the single “Conversations” in 2019 and debut EP Crux in 2020, the project started picking up steam– forming into a full band arrangement and hitting the road in 2021 and 2022 to ring in the release of debut album I’m Not Trying to Start a Fire Anymore, an exploration of melancholy pop and alt rock.

Blood Root is preparing to release her sophomore album, recorded at home in Nashville, TN with seasoned recording engineer and amp builder Elad Shapiro. Every song carries a different sonic weight, offering a wide palette of genre-blending journeying.
