With his debut album, documentary film, and headlining tour all announced in the span of one month, Jonah Kagen has been making bold moves in his creative career. All of his passion projects share the same name, Sunflowers and Leather, dubbed after his desire for an aged, magical life.

The Album
Released on September 5th, Sunflowers and Leather dives into the deeply poetic insights Jonah Kagen gained while living on the road in an Airstream that doubled as his recording studio. “Sunflowers and Leather is a snapshot of my mind at this point in my life,” he stated about the album. “It’s an investigation of all the questions and existential wonders that live with me, and it’s documentation of my search for meaning, purpose, identity, and faith.”
He’ll be performing highlights of this 16-track album during his upcoming concert at HI-FI on January 20th.
The Documentary
Filmed with renowned visual creative David O’Donohue, Sunflowers and Leather: The Field Guide captures the year-long adventure that inspired Jonah Kagen on his soul-finding journey. It’s obvious Jonah never meant to take this journey alone: he includes his audience in every aspect, carrying them into the open road to explore the landscapes, leisure, and wildness of the world with him. The full documentary, along with exclusive highlights, behind-the-scenes photos, and unreleased footage, can all be found on his field guide’s official website.
The Tour
To celebrate the release of his album and documentary, Jonah announced his headlining tour, also titled Sunflowers and Leather. Featuring hits from his latest album, as well as renowned singles “You Again” and “God Meets the Devil,” this tour stands to celebrate all the heartbreak, adventure, and growth he experienced during his nationwide trip.
The Sunflowers and Leather tour will commence on January 20th, 2026, at HI-FI. Tickets are selling out quickly, so be sure to grab them before advance sales end.
