While there are plenty of funk bands alive and kicking, there’s only one that’s made up entirely of 5000-year-old mummies, that being Nashville’s Here Come the Mummies. Careful to keep their identities under wraps, the eight-piece band perform their funk/R&B jams completely wrapped up in linen, using aliases like Eddie Mummy, K.W. TuT, and Mummy Cass.

The band has opened for Cheap Trick, become a staple on The Bob and Tom Show, and played massive summer festivals like Summer Fest. HCTM’s mysterious personas, cunning song-craft, and unrelenting live show will bend your brain and melt your face. Maybe that’s why fans can’ stop losing their minds over these mayhem-inducing mavens of mirth.
