Jessica Garrett, better known by her stage name JOOSI GOT BARS, was born and raised on the westside of Naptown, Indianapolis, Indiana. From an early age, it was clear that she was born to perform. Family members recall her toddling around in a diaper, microphone in hand, singing her heart out as she claimed the family’s front yard on 26th and Harding as her very own stage. Music and performance weren’tjust hobbies; they were part of her essence, and she embraced them naturally and wholeheartedly.

JOOSI’s signature sound comes from blending her rich, melodic singing voice with gritty, raw rap lyrics. She creates powerful, emotion-filled tracks that resonate with her audience, producing nothing less than masterpieces with each release. Known for her undeniable talent and dedication to her craft, JOOSI has spent years getting her “ducks in a row,” hustling, and building her network within Indianapolis and beyond. Her relentless grind paid off when she released her first official album, R&B Rappin’, in 2022.

JOOSI has left her mark on some of Indianapolis’ most treasured stages and events. She has captivated audiences at venues such as The Vogue and Hi-Fi Indy and performed at celebrated local events, including NAP OR NOTHING, Midwest Leak, the Indiana Black Expo, and Chreece Music Festival. She has also made waves on airwaves, with appearances on WFYI Radio and WISH-TV. Her collaborations with some of Naptown’s top artists further highlight her versatility and respect within the local music community.

JOOSI’s biggest motivation is her family— her two daughters, Isia and Daisia, who are at the heart of everything she does. With an unwavering focus on making them proud and leaving behind a lasting legacy, JOOSI continues to push her career to new heights. Her talent, drive, and the support of her community make it clear that JOOSI GOT BARS is destined for greatness.
