Sonia is a girl band exploring whimsy, rock, and post-punk through original music. Throughout Sonia’s 8-year legacy as an Indianapolis band, its members have sought to empower women. By welcoming women new to playing music into the band, longtime member and front woman Hannah Hadley has consciously challenged the male-dominated local music scene with a feminine Sonic influence. Sonia is currently embodied by Hannah Hadley, Stef Baker, Emery Lacunae, and Barbie VanGundy.
