General Information, Rules & FAQs

Before you head to the park, be sure to check our list of permitted and non-permitted items, as well as some of our most frequently asked questions. These restrictions and FAQ’s are for our normal concerts. For questions regarding Holler on the Hill, please visit the official website for information.


Box Office, Will Call & On-Site Ticket Sales

Box office and will call opens 1 hour prior to the published door time of the event. Box office is located at the top of McAllister Amphitheater hill, near the south entrance to the park. Box Office is accessible by trail from anywhere in the park.  Cash and credit cards are accepted for onsite ticket purchases. We encourage you to purchase tickets prior to the event. In the event tickets are available on the day of show, they can be purchased at the box office. 

Security and Search

For the safety of all guests, fans and performers; ALL attendees and their belongings are subject to search and/or metal detector screening/wanding prior to entering the venue.


Garfield Park and MacAllister Amphitheater are ADA accessible.

Once your ticket has been scanned, and you have entered the event grounds, re-entry is NOT be permitted.  Holler On The Hill Festival is the only exception which does allow re-entry with your wristband. For specific questions about Holler On The Hill, visit the official website.

All Ages & Children

Children 5 years old or under will be admitted at no charge with a paid adult ticket. Children must be supervised at all times. This is an all-ages event. In order to consume alcohol you must be 21 years of age with a valid state or government issued ID. Unfortunately we are not able to accept paper, temporary or expired ID’s.

Lawn/Folding Chairs

Back by popular request: Personal lawn/folding chairs ARE permitted.  Guests are allow one lawn chair per person and are restricted to lawn area only. Please be mindful of the limited amount of space we have and keep your footprint to a minimum. Chairs must be personal lawn/folding chairs. Do not bring your patio furniture. (Yes, this has happened!) Holler on the Hill does carry a different policy in regards to chairs and seating, visit the official website for more information.

Reserved Seating

Reserved seating for each Garfield Park Concert, with the exception of Holler On The Hill, offers traditional reserved seating in the front of the venue. These are the best seats in the house. The middle seating section is bleacher seating and is part of our general admission area. Bleacher seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Parking Lots

• No alcoholic beverages – city park rules.
• Pick up your trash, please
• Leave the park the same you found it
• Be courteous when parking, one space per vehicle
• Refer to our parking map for an overview of locations

Permitted Items

• Small Lawn Chairs, 1 per person
• Small blankets, towels
• Small purse and personal bags will be allowed (no larger than 12″x 12″)
• All bags are subject to inspection
• Umbrellas (only small hand-held)
• Strollers
• Binoculars
• Personal use cameras, no professional equipment

Non-Permitted Items

• No pass-outs or re-entry
• No outside food or beverages, unless it’s for your baby
• No water bottles or camelbacks, empty or sealed
• No glass of any kind
• No firearms – no exceptions
• No illegal substances
• No recording equipment (personal or professional)
• Pets (pets are OK inside the park, but not inside the amphitheater)

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a ticket for my kids?

Kids 5 and under may enter the general admission area of the event free of charge with a paid adult ticket holder. Reserved ticket holders with children under 5, kids must be restricted to your seat (in your lap) or they will need to have a paid ticket. All reserved seats are 100% sold out.

When does the box office open?

The box office and will call pickup opens 1 hour before the published door times. Our box office is located off the Southern Ave entrance near the main amphithetre entrance.

Do you allow pass outs?

Since the duration of most events is 4 hours, we do not allow passouts for normal concerts. Holler on the Hill will allow passouts and re-entry with your festival wristband.

Is there a water station available to the to the public?

We do not have public water station at normal concerts. Holler on the Hill will have a public water station on site during the event. Bottled water is sold for $3 at all events and the proceeds from those sales help support future events at the park.

Where do I park?

Parking locations for all shows can be found on our parking page. Garfield Park is one of the largest city parks and has a wealth of onsite parking. We always recommend carpooling, using rideshare services such as Uber and Lyft or take advantage of our Pedal & Park location for free bike parking.
